Serving
Choosing to create opportunities and platforms that enable us to meet the needs of our wider surfing community. e.g. chaplaincy, events, logistical support, emergency response, community development, etc.

Our Story
1984 a dream was born when Christian Surfers NZ was started by Marc Dyer. The Christian Surfers movement began in the early 70’s and was fathered by a man named Brett Davis in Australia. After answering the call on his life to bring the word of God to the beach, the CS movement suddenly began.
1999 After many years of developing and working hard to get other nations involved the family of Christian Surfers changed shape and established itself as an international movement.
2009 Christian Surfers New Zealand celebrated its 25 year Anniversary as a ministry serving and surfing for Jesus. Groups from all over the nation gathered together to sing, share stories, surf and serve each other as they reflected on what all the Lord had done over the past 25 years around the surfing world in this great nation.
2014 Christian Surfers New Zealand was still charging and working hard to bring the message of Jesus from coast to coast. There are several groups that represent CSNZ from all around Aotearoa. We are always looking for people who want to share in the journey of being the bridge from the beach to the church as we serve and surf for Jesus.
2020 CSNZ launched CSALT Academy. Which has been an amazing tool to disciple young surfers from NZ and around the world as they come spend 5 months in a live in discipleship academy. This has been a great tool to have more surfers actively giving surfers the opportunity to know and follow Jesus through their out reach phase.
2022 Christian Surfers has continued to grow and expand both internationally and in New Zealand. There has been a number of different people leading and contributing to the growth of CSNZ. We are in a growth phase as more groups are being established throughout the country! We are also strengthening the ties to our international CS tribe. Now in over 37 nations Christian Surfers has been reaching out, loving people and bridging the gap between the beach and the church.
