In conversation HR Surfboards

I started surfing in the early 70s in Brazil with my school friends. I loved it, but I was a teenager, and I could not afford surfboards. I met an American who had a big surfboard factory near my city, who had left the USA so he wouldn’t have to serve in the army, and I started working for him. I knew nothing about surfboards but did whatever he told me to do, and started to learn. This guy had some of the best Brazilian shapers at the time working with him, and they taught me and gave me an o...

Christian Surfers Hit Skeleton Bay!

Skeleton Bay only breaks once in a blue moon. Once or twice a year. If that. East Coast Swell Run

As winter takes full effect, the North Island is being impacted by Tasman storms, initially causing rough weather for many coastal towns. However, as these storms move eastward, they create large and powerful swells from the East-Northeast to the East-Southeast, traveling down from Northland through to the Coromandel and the Bay of Plenty.Remember the last swell we had? It brought clean offshore winds, and pumping waves. But this current swell is even bigger! The corners of the Coromandel and th...

XXL Swell Hits The West

A Short film by Lauren Crerar: The boys saw that there was a big swell coming for the points. Some said it was the biggest they had seen in a while. The night before was still super windy, but they knew it was going to be offshore all night and that it would clean up for the morning. Morning came, and it was too dark to see the waves, but they knew it would be on. They waxed up their surfboards and got suited up. Watch the short film below!!  ...
